Week 5- Activity; Graffiti Writing

IT’S WEEEEEEEEEK FIVE EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you couldn’t tell by the post name or the photos up above, this week we are learning about Graffiti writing or Graffiti art!! Actually you know what let’s just say we are learning about Graffiti in general!!! I’ve been extremely excited about this week…. maybe a little too excited?? No, not at all, you can never not be too excited for something that truly interests you. I have digressed, let us get back to Graffiti. Our class took an optional trip down to the  Venice art walls. Now, I have only visited Venice once or twice, but those two trips I did notice all the wonderful and amazing art. One that captivated me last time was this old vacant house right near the walk, it was painted with  purple/blue hues underneath, but covered with an amazing graffiti mural  (below is a photo of that I found on the internet).

Here it is!! Sadly, it seems as if part of this mural was bombed by other artist.                  -insert sad face-

Upon arriving to the Venice Beach Art Walls, there was a pair creating a piece that I believe was the slogan of their group. They were nice and introduced themselves, they also gave me a few pointers as to how I should begin my piece. I of course was entirely unsure and freaking out. In the end I believe my piece came out okay. I drew a derpy Stormtrooper in black and blue.I did two smaller stencil pieces that didn’t turn out the best due to the material of the paper.I also got to try Professor Z’s famous Ice Tea for the first time. It was quite Delicious and flavorful.

(FULL DISCLOSURE I KNOW I DID NOT POST A PHOTO OF MY WORK AS MY PHONE DECIDED IT WAS TIME TO DIE(AT LEAST UNTIL I WAS ABLE TO CHARGE IT))
